Well my old cars are like a shopping list. One I regretted getting rid of was my Audi Coupe Quattro ... the transmission started to play up so it had to go. How I regret that now.

Other cars have been Opel Manta 2.0gte. Ex military Land Rover 2a gun tractor. Now that was fun. Ford MK IV Zodiac 3.0. Then on to the sensible VW Bora and Passat. Funny enough I am now back with a very sensible diesel Audi A4. Honest...

Here a similar Audi to my first one. I could have had the body kit fitted too. Why oh why. Did I sell it.

1984 I bought a mint 1977 mark 2 Capri 2.0ltr Ghia in Daytona Yellow, god I loved that car, then 4 months later I got p***** and barrel rolled it always wanted another Capri. 280 Brooklands please

I had a 82 Diamond White XR3 which I fitted with the RS front spoiler and wheels, didn’t handle well so chopped it in for a Capri 2.8 loved that car and the first car club I joined.

I worked with a guy who was one of the test engineers of the dolly sprint. It was one of the first normal looking saloon cars that weren’t normal. Said he had endless fun at traffic lights against unsuspecting drivers.

Yep, Dolomite Sprint for me. Sedate looking saloon with a classy interior that was as quick as a BMW 2002 tii. Sadly they had reputation for cooling system and head gasket issues. I had a couple of them in the early 80s, the best one of which was a manual/overdrive one in white with black trim. It would do over 80 in third and in overdrive third would get close to the ton - fairly impressive for a 1970s engineered 2 litre car. WMU 18 M, where are you now?

I think you are right I don’t remember doing that and have no reason to dislike except maybe the colour but don’t tell bmbabe

I had loads of 80's Ford's, but my stand out favourite was definitely my my 1984 B reg Granada 2.8i Ghia X. I'd give my left b****** to have one now. A proper boat but it made you feel good!

I had a B reg Granada Scorpio, my first car with ABS and an auto box. I bought it because the kids were little and always fell asleep in the back but the wife could just reach back and recline the electric back seats. It was a good caravan tug as well but it drank petrol. Before that I had a Triumph 2.5 Sport Estate with overdrive on 4th and 5th gear. Rare in its day and possibly extinct now.
