I know some of you have a interest in all things woolly so here's an update the first batch of lambs enjoying the sun

Boing. Said Zeberdee. Remember Jasper Carrot. Our head teacher at primary school told of an old saying that if March came in like a lion it would go out like a lamb and vise versa. I think/hope we are looking at fine weather at the end of March - beginning of April. The Z is going back on the road a month early!!
 
I see a small black one there. Does that happen often? Is its wool more desirable or worth less?
Good spot there ,black wool is worth less as it's difficult to dye it any color other than black .but there are many different grades of wool,sheep that live in colder parts of the country have a much denser fleece than those in the lowland .but their wool is very coarse and is usually made into carpets the softer wools are made into clothing

Update here's a Jacob ewe and her newborn twins.it must be uncomfortable for her as the male lambs are born with pronounced horns "see pic 2" this was in farmer speak a tup and a theve lamb
