And once again someone who should be in the list of contenders has been omitted. Six straight World Superbike titles and doesn’t get on the list, maybe he’s too white?

Tony.
No idea what the criteria is or who sits on the panel but this is a clear omission, in my view. Sadly, bikes are viewed by those that do this as a minority sport.

To be honest, I think the whole list looks a bit weak.

Doesn't look to be much of an argument when you actually look at the nominees...

Cricketer Stuart Broad, jockey Hollie Doyle, boxer Tyson Fury, Formula 1's Lewis Hamilton, footballer Jordan Henderson and snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Fury shouldn't be on there after some of the things he's said. Not a great role model. Other than Hamilton , the rest have relatively minor achievements on the world stage. Six World Superbike Titles is certainly a bigger achievement than simply being a good footballer(Henderson) , just one of many. As @andyglym says, 'viewed as a minority sport' so not high enough profile.

Apparently there isn't a Rep on the panel from Ni, again only from England, Wales and Scotland.

Tony.

I have Patrick as my middle name, I'd have spoken up for him.

Tony.

Have never understood this award...Sports Achievement or Personality regardless of achievement?

Oh yeah, then Monaco would be a ghost town mate.

have to agree here tony. although im quite biased being from my home country. but common. just cause he aint on spouting about his opinions all the time and likes the quiet life hes not a contender for sports personality. man is clearly best in his field by a country mile.
