Maybe Tony was a bit ago I did it seem to remember I was toying with the idea of hacksawing a spanner in half as ideally I needed dumpy version of the full size spanner.

Its amazing how your mind works as a mechanic, trying to find a solution to various problems mate. I once cut down an 18mm 3/8 drive socket to undo the bolts in a diff. on an E 30 3 series to save dropping the beam. Still have it somewhere.
