Sent this just now, apparently "up North" these vehicles have new camouflage so they're less easy to spot.

Lots of floro orange etc. not. Keep your eyes peeled.

Tony.

Whilst they have police written on the van, they are actually not manned by serving officers; the camouflage should help with revenue raising. :(

In Hertfordshire they are operated by Police Staff, not officers

I'm sure you mean you've seen a broken down van and you're making people aware of that hazard, apparently one can get into trouble highlighting the location of Police revenue vans now, even on social media (even though the Police themselves send lists out of their locations...)

Naughty... if a driver does the slightest thing to make it harder getting caught they're penalised, but a speed camera van effectively gets camouflage thats a lovely set of double standards. Can see me holding my auto garage door button down approaching one of these =))

These are up in south cumbria i am lead to beleve ( by a recently retired traffic cop) that they are fitted with a front , side and rear mounted camera which have a line of site range of a kilometer and can take an average speed reading

That's high tech. Will need a good battery in the garage door remote for a Km range.

Tony.

It's not the range that has the effect, It confuses the radar and stops it getting a lock on for speed.

Yeah. Mine has a sliding cover, to stop accidental operation.

But it's always like this,

but that's only so I can open the garage door as I approach the entrance to our drive.;)
