You do not need high temperature paint for calipers - I have been using Smootherite for about thirty years with no problems. As with any painting, preperation is the important thing - it is no use painting on top of rust - but so many people cannot be bothered with hard work - hence the popularity of powder coating! Powder coating is fine, until you get a chip, after which rust will spread quickly. Incidentally. I always fit stainless steel bleed nipples.
