This is my first post, so here goes...

I wondered if someone might be able to help with a bit of advice? I dropped my spare wheel carrier a while ago and was shocked at the state of it all. The carrier was full of stones and mud meaning the wheel was sat in it all corroding away quite merrily.

I've dropped the carrier and frame off with the intention of cleaning it all up and respraying.

My problem is with the underside of the boot floor where the spare wheel pushes up against it. There were 4 pieces of rubber glued and ty-wrapped to the brackets. I'm trying to restore as close as possible to original spec and can't identify what should go on the very back mounting. I've got the 3 that go on the brackets from BMW. Real OEM was very vague but think I've got the right bits. Can anyone help with the rear one as it's different and mounts on a little spigot?

I made some rubber buffers/spacers up and attached with glue/cable ties where possible. The spigot you highlight needs a thick piece of rubber with a hole in the middle; a bit of glue and it holds tight.
By the way, my spare looked almost as rusty as yours but with a wire brush and sandpaper, followed by a couple of coats of Hammerite it looks much better and the wheel itself was sound; much to my initial surprise.

Thanks Ian,

These are the ones for the 3 brackets I found after searching through RealOEM:

Looks like I might have to follow your lead and knock one up out of some sheet rubber
