Sorry another leaking roof issue!

mine sometimes leaks, its very random, like it can really pee down and be fine, then another day you get that daft misty drizzle and it comes in, think it depends on the wind direction and where i park.

Been shopping @Grumpy here'e a pic of the grub screw. Undo the rrof catches and tip the front up and the grubscrew is in the black bit of the hook. When the catch is shut it is against the roof.

OK. There was just enough adjustment for one turn on each side. I'll report back when we have the next downpour which doesn't look to be long!

okay, this is my time to shine and give back to the furum! hah

I had this problem and mine is now fine, hopefully it will work for you and you are fine with the aesthetics of it. i bought some of this

try to locate where its coming from first. mine was at the joins where to roof folds on both sides of the car. this happens because the rubber shrinks with age. what I did was fill the gaps completely so you basically get rid of those joins, and turn it into one piece of rubber. smoooth it all off so it is seamless and looks good, use a bit of spit on your finger to get it smooth. sounds horrible but its the best way. then wind the window up into the rubber so it is nice and tight. obviously do it in a dry stint of weather if you dont have a a garage. it took about 2 days to dry but i left it for a week to cure propperly.

then i used a scalpel to re cut where the roof splits. and bobs your uncle, no leaks!!! well it does leak if i dont wind my windows up first before shutting the door. but i can live with that.

Hopefully this helps and it is leaking where i described!!

Thanks for the reply @PeteZ3. I've turned the roof hooks one turn each to tighten the roof when shut and it has completely sorted the passenger side out. The drivers side is leaking slightly at the centre joint so I'll give your advice a go. It is massively better already than it was at the weekend.

I would get a punture repair kit for a push bike one of the types with the full rubber pads and cut this to shape and glue it on the end may be neater and only a couple of quid with the glue

Thanks Brian. I'll do that when it stops, if it stops! I've just had a look and found the grub screws.
@Grumpy Just a quick warning, the grub screws if not undone for a while can seize solid, I rounded the Allen head of one of mine on the 2.8, bugger of a job to drill out. I would undo the roof the day before and get some WD40 down the hook thread and around the grub screw, wish I had had the foresight to do this, did it on the other side and it came undone a treat.

Ha Ha scrap that then, didn't read on see you've done it

Thank's for the warning nod. I did it as I'd posted and they did come undo fine. Can see what your saying tho.

Morning all! Just gone out to Reggie to do something and the passenger seat looks like a swimming pool. It may have been leaking a long time but as I don't usually run him in wet weather I wouldn't know. It looks to be coming in from across the top of the window.
Is there any adjustments that can be made or any quick fix or am I doomed to the leaky roof from the pits of hell!
Thanks
Grumps.

I found this link on a leaking topp and will be trying out the repair this weekend.
