Someone sent me this earlier...it appears my car is being used in an advert without asking me!

Happens all the time. they just nick stuff off the net.
It's happened a couple of times with me, one on eBay at the moment advertising some fog lights which they reckon is the picture they were sent from their supplier. I asked them to send me a set to compensate using my car to advertise their product and got a reply saying they would give me 10% off, no thanks they are were still more than twice the price than their competitors. Don't think I can do a lot about it really as they will just take the image from a google search.

If it's your photo you can ask them to stop using it. If the image was taken in a public place by someone else there's nothing to be done. Only a forensic analysis of the file could prove anything though.
It's quite probably a stock image that's been photoshopped to change the colour. Dead easy to do - I turned Panther pink for Stacey a while ago.

I found my old zed pictured in an ebay advert for suspension.
It was on photo bucket and anyone can share an image from there but not for commercial purposes.
I did inform then that not only was it my car on my drive but the suspension being advertised was not even fitted to the car
Subsequently they removed the image from the add.

Well Mac I suppose you could look at it as flattery. They obviously like your car.
Yeah, I suppose. I think the image is from before I owned it as one of the first things I did was the number plate relocation into the grille. The advert blanks it out in the original place.

So it does. @Redline is probably right and it could be a stock image with a colour change. I feel a bit better now.

I found Sunny for sale on eBay same pictures from who I bought it from and different seller

I shut that s**t down within seconds!
