Some help with headlights

hi all now that the clouds are gone I've started to play with my lil mate again lol
I bought a used headlight thinking they where all the same, but there is 1 difference I've loaded some pics to show. The first pic is what ive taken from my car. The hole is sealed. And the second looks like it's supposed to have a bulb or something can I just seal it up and carry on. Am just thinking more for m.o.t time can anyone explaine what's going on here?

Yeah seal it up it would except a sidelight bulb but they are in the bumper so no need for one in there.
The blanks are sometimes marked to cut out maybe some one did.:thumbsup:
 
May be a daft question, but are you sure the ones you have bought are UK spec? reason I ask is that looks like a daytime running light holder to me, (I'm no expert) but I'm sure someone will be along to give you some expert advice.

I know what's wrong one of your headlights the one with the hole is from a pre facelift the one without the hole is a facelift light which also means if I'm right the rings round the light lenses will be chrome facelift and black pre facelift . Facelift models don't have side lights in the headlights only bumper ones
If you need the later one you could seal the hole and fit it . Itwould be mot pass but I think they will be cosmetically different
 
Ok thanks the lights being in the bumper makes sense am guessing it's a preface lift model I didn't even ask. I will seal it and fit hopefully the bolt holes match :thumbsup:
 
You were spot on their is a difference. Ive fitted the headlight and got another on the way to match, the lense was a lil faded anyway. It's not a very noticeable difference but I think I like it better in black. If I can find away to do way with the yellow, then they mite be coming back out.
Off topic I had a great dive out in the sun today. Love live the Z :thumbsup:
