I think today is a day to forget .My mum lives next door and is pretty good at 79 still makes herself a rolling road block in her vw golf and keeps busy,this morning she took out her recycling boxes tripped on a kerb drain and fell she's now in hospital awaiting a full hip replacement tomorrow morning,that took a bit of time.Ioan our son mostly does the sheep work and has put a great deal of effort in the last few years building the flock of sheep that I'm very proud of.they are due to start giving birth in the next 10 days last week about 6 of the aborted so we took them to the veterinary laboratory in Aberystwyth in the meantime about 10 more have succumbed and this morning one of his best ewes died and the lab informed us that they have compylobacteriosis it's carried by birds and foxes highly contagious even to humans and he could lose up to 70% of his flock as there's no cure. were hoping for a better result but feel quite helpless .on the subject of helpless my very good friend who lives just across the road was diagnosed with terminal cancer between Christmas and new year ,he's only 42 with 2 young boys 6 and 4 he's having chemotherapy but had to be rushed into hospital lunch time.Cancer is a basta..rd .On a lighter note Sarah's 2.8 passed its MOT today.Heres a pic with my mate about 15 years ago on the right next to Mark happy days.

Heard about that sheep disease on Country File Hugh, must be a farmers worst nightmare regarding his livestock right next to Foot and Mouth. Sorry to hear about your mum also, sadly my mum wasn't so lucky to survive her hip break, wishing your mum all the best. Lastly for your mate, nothing I can say that you haven't heard or experienced so just to say we'll be thinking of him and his family mate.

That's some run of terrible luck Hugh, sorry to see it's a tough time at the moment :(.
Hope your mum's op is a success tomorrow so she can get out in her car and hold everyone up again.
Fingers crossed that the disease that's affecting the sheep has run it's course, luckily your son has a strong family around him for support.

Sorry to hear of your family troubles Hugh. Hope your Mum is soon on the mend and can become a rolling road block again. Terrible news about the sheep but I suppose you will have to let it run it's course. Yes, the big C is a terrible thing, we all know someone who has / had cancer. Best wishes you you all.

An English family are shopping in Sports Direct, 6 year old son picks up a Welsh rugby top and says to his older sis, I want to support these, sis smacks him round the ear and says go and speak to mum.......mum I want to support these, mum smacks him around the ear and says don't ever say that again, go and see your dad.........dad i want to support these but my sis and my mum say i cant.........dad says don't you ever even touch a shirt that colour again and smacks him round the ear....the little boy sobbing, puts the shirt back........Short time later the family are driving home, dad says to his son......son I hope you have learned a valuable lesson today........son says yes dad.........dad says and what is that lesson son.........son says I've only been a Wales fan for 1 day and already I hate you English Bastards!!!!

You know, some days you feel down when a few things don't ever seem to go your way. But then you hear something like this and it puts everything sharply back in perspective, and you feel a right pr*ck!
