Have taken the Hardtop of my Z but cannot get the roof to work. It's also very stiff manually.

Is their a release valve on the hydraulics and also where do I plug the roof into.

I have asked questions about it before but just can't get it to work. If I could release some pressure in the system that would help until I can get it sorted.

Loads of tinkering on these little Zeds (Loving it)

Do you have a powered roof and the motor wont work ?

There is a t shaped key on the side of the pump to release/bypass the pump

Yes,

Only had the car a week and it's had the hardtop on for about 4 years.
The lovely lady who sold it to me did say to just connect the soft top back up but I have no ide where.
It doesn't help that I am getting over a broken back after being involved in a car accident on the 1st of March..
Still finding it hard to bend about too much at the mo..

This is mounted in the boot on the nearside behind the carpet

Yes if you have a problem with your pump not working if you turn the T bar this will release the pressure and allow you to use the roof manually but you still may find it hard with a bad back

If you need any help give me a shout only 6 miles away don't forget

Me and the wife was trying it but got to a point where it wouldn't go any further without forcing.

She can help me put it down and if it rains I'll get wet Oh well we are waterproof to a point..
Thanks very much for your help.
I've only been a member since the start of the week and it seems all I've done is ask questions but no one has been anything but totally helpful..

Brilliant..

Russell are you going to Zedfest at Shepshed its on the event list in forthcoming events. Here you get to meet many members we are a friendly bunch.

@Russell O to get the roof to work.
1 start engine
2 foot on brake
3 press up switch between the sear backs. The pump should run. if nothing happens check the T key on the tank is shut.

The relays are on the tank 2 purple ones and will have to check which fuse it is.

If the roof comes up as it comes over keep the front tipped up as there is a microswitch in the hinged section which cuts the pump out so that you can't operate the roof when it is shut.

I disconnected the hydraulic ram behind the passenger seat on mine and just lift and lower my roof manually.

I disconnected it originally when I installed my hard top fitting brackets and haven't bothered reconnecting it.

You have to stop to raise and lower the soft top if it's powered anyway and I think it's quicker to get out to raise it.

To lower mine, I just release the catches and let it fall on it's own
