Welcome to the forum from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. I had a problem with mine also. It was the zip-in type. I tried replacing it but the roof was too far gone and ended up getting a new top. However, I had seen on the internet, you-tube, videos of people using cleaners such as the other forum members mentioned above, on their rear windows. There are actual videos of how to clean them up so their clear again. Good luck with it....................................FrankieHi All, Just bought my z3, 2.0 1999 - in love but windscreen kinda...well, opaque would be a kind way of describing it. Can anyone recommend someone in the Surrey area? Closest I could find was the Car Hood Warehouse, anyone else?
In a way I think that's the 2nd best option. The best option I think is getting a new window made up using your existing zip and plastic as a template. That helps ensure any small stretch is replicated when the new window goes back.Welcome Andrew,
Recent experiences with aftermarket rear windows has shown that the easiest to fit consistently are genuine BMW ones. Granted they are expensive at about £220, but literally a guaranteed fitment!
Wherever you get one, it's a DIY job with a bit of patience and two sets of steady hands.
Cheers, Gaz
