I've found some suppliers for about 300-350 not fitted. I've emailed a few about fitting. If I can persuade the Mrs to buy me one cos I've no money haha

I can't get anyone here to even attempt to fit the window for me although reading through the forum it seems that a lot of guys have managed it with a little help and patience. I think I have the original roof on my 19 year old car so maybe a new one is not a bad call.

Replacement window anyone?

But the number of teeth on the zipper can't change whether the top has stretched or shrunken over the years. Maybe try counting them on each part to ensure that the numbers match up?? HTH. JIM

The guy in coventry did mine along while back on a previous zed he removed the old split screen he uses the same zip and replaces the window to it and zips it back in.

Yup. Been on an Association Doo if memory serves.
And, you came across some geezer sitting in a lay-by killing time? Or was it the other way about?=))

Yeah, clocked a dodgy looking geezer parked in a lay-by mate, thought I'd investigate. Nice chap ;)

Back to the roof please hahaha.
My worry is that I fork out for a new roof. And it's not money that I will recoup when selling the car. It's high mileage and only going to get higher. So the price will go down.

He's a top man and does a top job. He did my brother's last year. Using my preferred method of using old zip and putting new plastic in.

£130 for a straightforward job. £240 max if it turns nasty and needs stitching repair.

Has anyone ever tried to fit the hood themselves?
First response I've got today was 895 fitted for a burgundy hood complete.
There are suppliers where I could get one under 400 and fit it myself... if it's possible

If your still interested in replacing the window we tried so many other brands and found the same problems you did. Hours and hours of faffing around. The only solutions we came up with is to use the genuine BMW zip kit or buy the BMW window. Then believe it or not it only took 5 mins to install. Madness!

Other than OEM replacement for many parts is a false economy IMO. This seems to prove the point.:)
