Hey everyone, hope you're well!
So I was going to join a few of you on track this past Monday, however when getting my pads changed, the mechanic pointed out that my front right spring had snapped (see pic).
I'd like to change it myself but am unsure of a few things.
TLDR: What's the easiest fix for the car?
If I get a replacement spring from Euro Car Parts will it be the correct size? I've read that most of them lower the car (not that I'm agaisnt it but as a 'repair for now' I'd rather not have to delve into that). If I can't get a standard size from ECP should I just get 2 springs and change both fronts, lowering just the front(leaving the rear for later)? I'm also guessing I'd need new shocks to fit the lowered springs?
If the only option for standard size replacement is OEM, would it be worth finding an complete spring and shock secondhand?
Also as per the picture, it looks like some rubber has perished around the shock. Would I *need* to get this changed if I'm just changing the spring?
I'd like to keep this job as simple as possible, aside from handing it over to a garage. I'm in Lincolnshire for a few days so if anyone local would like to lend a hand that'd be brilliant!
Thanks
