As most know i have been doing the same as Dave @Grumpy and trying to get fit and also lose weight.
I started around 2 months ago when i weighed around 14st and at first struggled to do anymore than 3km on the cross-trainer. Then i started doing HIIT and found that after 2 weeks of doing this i could then manage 7.5km in 30 minutes. Then as most of you know my health suffered a serious blow.
So last week for the first time in almost 4 weeks i started on the cross-trainer again new weight from what i had lost previously was 13st 4lb and was surprised that i could still do the 7.5km in 30 minutes.
My goal has always been to be able to do 10km on the cross-trainer.
Well today i smashed it. 10km in 39.42 minutes. Weight now down to 13st 1lb. Not bad for a 57 year old man =))
I think @GazHyde should create a new area in the forum for those who are looking at being more healthy which i know he is not one of them =))=)):ymdevil::ymdevil::ymdevil:

I'm at my perfect fighting weight I'll have you know...

Thats cracking mate top job! I'm finding setting goals helps no end. When I started 3 weeks ago I struggled doing 3km but now doing 4.5 to 5km without to much trouble. My next goal will be 7.5km I did my run then a 15 minutes fast uphill walk followed by a short stint on the cross trainer this morning so much improved.
Keep it up mate but don't over do it.

Well done Billz & Grumpy, keep up the good work, but don't overdo it! We need the good guys to stick around.:)

Well done. I'm finding the 15 stone barrier hard to break I make great work of it Monday to Friday then the weekend comes along Damn beer

Congratulations with your weight loss.
I should join you as my tee shirt no longer flat =))

Its getting to the goal that counts then there is no reason not to hit it every time. I learnt this when i was in the Army. Fitness is all in the mind more so than in the body. Your body aches and your mind tells you to give up but you need to pass through that bit then there is no reason you can not do a lot more. I will stick at 10k now for the next 2 weeks then If i set my mind correctly then there is no reason for me not to do 60 minutes and around 15km This will be my next goal on the cross-trainer.

Keep up guys - I've walked 40km in the last 4 days ... just doing stuff. :)
Seriously though well done

I am one of the lucky ones, I have a high rate of metabolism, does not mean I am fit though, so I take my hat of to you gents..

Pain is just weakness leaving the body :D I'm sure the "twice round my golden bronzed body" PTI's would have reminded you of that once or twice @billz =))

Congratulations to you @billz :p
Keep up the good work ;)
Well done :)

But your gonna put a couple of lbs on tomoz. After the carvery :D
I am allowed treats every now and then. Not had a carvery for around 2 months. Also just about to crack open 2 bottles of Desperados as not had a drink since i took ill on holiday

Good on you mate, hope you are ok I have been hiding for a while! Just around the 19 stone mark myself, might be time to buy myself a hgv!!!

Just done another work out on the cross-trainer to make sure yesterdays 10k was not a fluke. Even bettered my time of 39.42.
Managed to do 10k in 39.17 so happy with the way things are going.
