Well it's starting to drive me mad. Why have bmw made the seats out of the most slipperiest leather none to man. Any sort of spirited driving and you spend more time trying to stop yourself sliding around than the car. all sorts of cleaners to try and take the shine off. Any ideas.
One idea has anyone got a cloth seat i could maybe try.

Try changing the products you use to clean them
@Mnbrennan has some good stuff

There's a great leather cleaner by Dr Leather that has a matte finish. Might solve your problem.

Can't say I've noticed TBF, nice and snug but then I'm no racing snake. I use the Autoglym cleaner and Balm, nice a shiny but not slippery by any means.

The shine is not how BMW made it. I've just started using Dr Leather. Dr Leather will clean, condition and remove the shine all in one go. If you read their web site you'll realise it's probably the best choice for leather because these guys are leather experts rather than car cleaning people. They know how to look after leather. If you want to email the email goes through to a knowledgeable guy who answers your questions promptly.

It's about £20 a time with postage but should last a fair while. They recommend up to 3 applications initially, especially if the seat is impregnated with other products.

I get my Dr Leather from Shop n shine for around £14. I'm lucky enough to live about 15mins from their warehouse shop so I don't have to factor in postage. It was the guys there that recommended it and I can't see me using anything else now.

I use leather cleaner which I got from DFS :p
It's very good ;)

The answer is very simple and also cheap, never mind your expensive leather products. simply sew some Velcro onto your trousers and to the corresponding place on your seat and hey presto! The bonus is you get a nice dramatic swishhhhhh...noise as you leave your car so everyone will pay attention to your nice sports car!

Just hook your budgie smugglers up at the back like the Oz Surf boat life savers do to get some extra cheeky grip on the seat.

The standard seats are joke for this.
When you have proper suspension even super clean sports seats won't keep you from moving about unless you have enough 'gravitas' to stay put :)

Been using this for years. Even on my sports seats:

And also the seat lift kit to stop submarining so much. @t-tony and @Southernboy boy make these.

One day I'll have my sports done in alacantara and sort the problem properly.
May be a few years time though..

Another reason I don't suffer this problem is that my car is an auto, so I have a spare foot to wedge against the footrest pedal. Shiny leather is not how it should be, a "flat " or matt finish is how it should look, so I've read.

Tony.
