The earth is travelling approx 67,000 mph around the sun.
Using an approximation that we're on a circular orbit (it is in fact elliptical) at 93m millions distant, the earth will travel 567m miles through space before Christmas arrives.
Even that is an underestimate since the earth is rotating, and we're also travelling at something like 600mph at this latitude as the earth rotates. Add that rotation onto the circular motion around the sun the figure will be larger still.
Having left school with one "O" Level, grade "C" in Religious Studys (I liked first form Senior School that much I did it twice) I bow to your superior intellect. Now run that by me again :( Good skills though.:thumbsup:

Its a interesting big number though - Makes my 27 mile journey to work look like a walk in the park!
