Siren location

The siren on my car goes off when unlocking the car with the key fob buttons, but it doesn't when using the key. I have been living with it like this for some time now. Last night the siren went off at 4am and the car wasn't even locked. So its time to take action.

Can someone tell me where about's the siren is located. Is it worth replacing the battery in the siren as I think it is dead.

Its a 2000 2.0 and has the three button key fob.

On mine it's adjacent to the bulkhead on the left side under the fuse box.

Same place and you can turn the siren off using the key on the back of it.
