I didn't as a lad (17) but I bodged the rusty holes on my mini to keep looking respectable and road worthy. It isn't difficult.

Sounds like the best solution is the minute Sopers re open get on the phone to them and order one. If you can not pick it up sure somebody close by would love a ride out to Lincoln
Haha I'll keep that in mind.
All ready for the sill cover. Even managed to wash the whole fleet inside and out which is a biblical moment for me.
