Hello, I'm selling the, the storage compartment (non hoop) to a forum member in America. Obviously it's quite a bulky item, and a fair bit of weight, not really heavy though.

The cheapest quote I've had giving the measurements and weight is £130 from the royal mail, that's more then I'm selling the part for.

Is this reasonable or should I be looking elsewhere for shipping.

Thx if you can help.

I’ve just sent a set of Z3M straps to Houston Texas via UPS Worldwide Saver and it cost £25.39.

Parcel was 450x220x90mm. And was 2kg.

You can find cheaper shipping services with reputable companies online. UPS and FedEx have affordable prices for shipping larger items, so you can check them out. But if you don’t find anything else, believe me, it’s best to spend a larger sum of money than fall victim to a scam. For instance, my friend wanted to ship his car to the state that he was moving in because he was flying by plane there.

I’ve ‘sold’ and ‘bought’ parts to/from the States with friends using ebay global shipping.
Put all the size/weight into ebay, private list it for $1/£1 and send the link.
Can take a little longer as the package initially goes to a distribution center, but it’s cheap.

I used to use 'Parcels to go' it's like a price comparison site for postage/shipping. You can find some good prices on there.

By now, I hope Paul H has found a suitable shipping solution for the storage compartment. Shipping bulky items overseas can indeed be a challenge, especially when the cost exceeds the item's value.
If you're still looking for advice on this matter, I recommend exploring different shipping options to find a more affordable quote. Consider reaching out to courier services, freight forwarders, or specialized shipping companies that handle larger items. They may offer more competitive rates compared to the Royal Mail.
If you'll ever want to ship vehicles across the country, you can check out this Ship Vehicles country. Remember to consider factors like transit time, insurance coverage, and reliability when comparing shipping options. Finding the right balance between cost and service is key.

Royal Mail is the most expensive! Never ship anything with them except for some papers required by the British gov facilities. Their prices are like stealing.
