Its always nice to have a day out to visit Zedshed HQ’s new location and yesterday was no exception,
For me its starts with a 65 mile top down ‘sedate’ drive on the M27 and M3 …, straight to the Burger Bar meeting place and my usual Breakfast Baguette
I think there were 4 Z4’s and 3 Z3’s parked up… but too interested in getting some food to count properly
Then after brekkie on for a 10 min drive to the new HQ.
Most of the attention was on Holly’s Z4 which went into the air ready to have a new stainless steel exhaust fitted.
Total equality in the Shed…. There you go Holly….
Get on with it!!!! ( not sure if Paul was under there helping or just taking a coffee order
First problem to overcome was stubborn flange nuts which Lee entertained the throng with lots of sparks and hot metal dropping to the ground….. ( ok it was a dremel and the rusty nuts being cut off
)
My interest was more focussed on the 2.8 Z3 on the other lift. As I have now resurrected my own project and I needed to check out how the brake lines were done , and got some tips on refitting the new pipes. (And … If I had taken them Lee could have bent them for me
)
So as Lee was cutting bolts on the Z4, Gaz was doing a masterclass on how to fit a new thermostat on 2.8. ( which is a lot more awkard than a 4 pot 1.9) My effort in the whole process was to hold a torch …. And sometimes in the right place
But as usual when I visit, I learn how things are done, and seeing that I will, at some stage, be doing this on mine, it has saved me hours of head scratching wondering how it all comes apart…and in which order…. which is a lot harder than it is on a 1.9 because of the limited space at the front end of the engine.
Also …it was a case of right place , right time yesterday as I have managed to secure a decent set of wheels and tyres for my project car from Roy (@Rha ) who was down for the day
Couldn’t stay as long a normal as had to get back to Bognor ( Rockstar duties
) , but as always , great fun to visit, ……….and one day I might actually do something and get my hands dirty
