Service lights/onboard computer

Hi Guys
A couple of recent issues,

My service lights at the bottom of the speedometer are not lighting up when starting.
The onboard computer is showing fuel consumption of around 7lt/100km when in reality it is using more like 11lt/100km
Are these related?

All other lights come on and go off as designed and the car has been serviced recently. Car runs perfectly otherwise.
Its a small niggle and was wondering if its something that can be sorted without involving a trip to the diagnostic machine?

You can get a service light reset tool cheaply the lights deminish to tell you its due.There may be someone local to you with a reset tool ?

To be clear - the car has been serviced. The lights just don't come on at all.

I would take the instrument pod off and check the wiring connections on the rear are all secure and bulbs have not blown. Not sure what illuminates the service lights, must be some kind of bulb(s).
