From the 1990s era I'd say that Senna was the most naturally gifted, Mansell had the biggest b*lls and Prost was the most intelligent.

Well put

For the sheer romance of the sport, how about Gilles Villeneuve? To me he epitomised everything that made Ferrari tick in the 1980s. Not greatly successful in terms of results, but there was never a dull moment when he was on track. In an era when Ferrari had the best engines but a very average chassis, he'd drive the wheels off the the car week in week out. A hero of the old school.

I think Senna could be considered both. Definitely flawed genius as his out and out out desire to win and beat Prost at all costs showed his true colours. There hasn't been a rivalry since in F1 anything like this and those were, in my opinion, the greatest days of The sport.

Best driver......... maybe. He is certainly up there and that ruthlessness streak greatly helps as nice guys hardly ever make it to the top of their sport.

Interesting how they became pretty good friends after Prost retired and had a good relationship for 6 months, I think that shows that it wasn't personal with Senna, it was all about winning......
