Guys,

Over recent weeks i have had my drivers seat out a couple of times to repair seat bushes and also the seat belt guide. Both occasions went smoothly.

I took them out this time and now have an airbag light which i understand is common and have ordered a reset tool to hopefully sort this out. However something is playing on my mind.
Under my seat i have a wiring loom from the floor with 2 plugs. A big white one that supplies the motor for seat adjustment and another smaller yellow/black one that i assume is goining to the pretensioner?. But this time i noted something i didn't see previously.
Coming off the seat belt pretensioner area is another short wire with a plug on the end which isn't connected to anything, just tucked away. Can anyone advise what this is?
I am wondering if this is the cause of the light now. Is there an airbag around the seats or is the light for the pretensioner?

Confused.

Well i couldn't stand it any longer and had the seat out again!
The wire i was referring to is tied to the pretensioner and goes up into the seat belt buckle receiver so i am assuming this is for some kind of seatbelt warning alarm that my car doesn't have.

Any one confirm this is the case?

Yes, sounds like wire for the seat belt buckle, this was compulsory for certain markets, Japan was one IIRC. Nothing to worry about.

I am pretty sure as the other guys said it is the seat belt buckle contact which is not used in our cars in the UK, I Have sen it before on an import.
