Anyone attempted a seat restoration with the textured patterned leather. I take it my only option is to completely recolour the blue with solid colour after repair, as adding the darker dots may get a little tedious

I used the Colourlock leather dye to restore exactly the same seats two years ago, no problems with the dots. You need to apply the dye in several layers anyway, but the damaged areas will absorb the leather dye quicker than the surrounding area. It's a good idea to use q-tips for the smaller damages. There IS a little difference once you applied the dye, but it's barely noticeable in my opinion.
I have some pictures of the restoration on my old phone with display failure, maybe I'll manage to recover them somehow.

Thanks. The amount of useful pics I have on my old broken phone is also an annoying issue .
I take it they just looked very bright then in comparison one they were a solid blue and not two tone. If you could find a pic or two that would be great.
Did you have any tears to sort with leather filler ? I see it's possible to recreate the texture by dabbing with a reverse embossed pad to recreate the raised dots. Just wondered if you tried that ?

Didn't try that, there were merely some scratches so no need for the leather filler. Although I can imagine that it should be possible to apply some dots by mixing blue and black dye, never tried that though.
Don't know if it's still of any use to you, but I found at least two decent pictures of the restoration @Harvey
One shows the original condition of the seat, the other picture was shot after one layer of leather dye has been applied.
As you can see, it covers the scratches remarkably well without changing the look of the dots.

Thanks Dom. That fantastic. How was that layer applied, Dabbed or sprayed ? Having watched a few videos of dye application I just thought it would dye the dots blue as well. Quite remarkable that it didn't. How many coats did you apply ?
I used a sponge to apply the dye. Normally you would apply several thin coats and let them dry before applying the next one (or use a hair dryer to speed things up). As I knew the seat was going to be replaced sooner or later, I simply applied one coat merely for a better look. In the meantime I found an immaculate RHD passenger seat which will replace my worn LHD driver seat
