Speaking of MOT's my 1 series just failed with a fluctuating front brake, and a discoloured rear indicator lamp.
The brakes had been juddering slightly for about 2 months now, so I have today fitted new front discs and pads, and the juddering has gone, though I suspect it more to have been that the pads were binding. Caliper was free.
Anyways what has annoyed me is the advisories he gave,
- Front anti roll bar links different types on same axle
- Rear Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge (5.2.3 (e))
when i asked about them he said the links are fine, just different manufacturers...
and the rear tyre had "only 3mm"
I don't mind it being something I need to change soon, however "different manufacturers but they are fine"?
and 3mm is almost twice the legal limit.
when it does pass if I left these, it just stains an otherwise healthy report, so I have ordered new drop links
