Hi,

I'm restoring my late son's Z3 and need to address the drivers seat forward/reverse motor which has burnt out. The seat is stuck in the far rear position and i assume i will need to buy a new motor. I've been researching and found the part number (67318398810) which I was going to get off ebay. I'm hoping that this will do the job.

Any thoughts on best way to complete this repair would be appreciated.

Hi welcome from the Midlands, the seat motors is right at the front base off the seat, you can undo 3 tiny Allen bolts each side off the motor, then pull the steel cables out which move the seats, then unplug the motor somewhere under the seat, and two bolts hold the motor on the seat ,from what I can remember Tony.

Welcome on board.

There are some basic diagrams and pictures of the seat bases here which may help. Manually drive the seat forwards so you can take it out is the easiest way.

Hi Stacy,

No many but I have attached what there is. It needs a lot of work but worth doing and going in for new brakes, service and MOT next week. I will get a full respray next year.

Hi Lee,

Thank you so much for your reply.

I'm in Weybridge, Surrey.

The motor is completely burnt out, I've tried most things and it is dead as a door nail.

The Z3 is a truly lovely car and I can see the appeal as it a real drivers experience.

Should you wish to sell the spare seat motor please let me know how much.

Many thanks

Tony

Have you managed to remove the old motor ? Which one is it front or rear ?

I can post you a motor for £25.
