I don't know how much postage here from the USA would be, but, for small items postage inside the States it's quite often free.( ie to Kissimmee) costs me nothing to get them home and UK postage would be considerably less, I would think, than to here direct from USA..

why is it always the passenger side that breaks, is it the opposite side on left hand drive cars (again passenger side) ?

why not just fit a piece of black heat shrink insulation tubing, it wouldn't have the swanky Z3 bit though
ok, reading this has inspired me to fix mine, here is the first one ( sprayed silver but any colour would be good) , one more to make, will post a how to when making clip number 2, now where did i put that vinyl transfer paper.
the proof will be in the fitting (if it stops raining) already tried it before i painted it its a good tight fit.

the camera doesnt really pic up the silver, think maybe black with a red Z3 logo would work well. fits good and tight though.

Jason where is the mad mods thread ? cant find it, what you have done looks good to me would think black is best but I dont know the material that you have used.
