Ive just given this repair a go. My guide on drivers side was missing the lower part and had snapped off near the bottom. So I've purchased a new guide from ebay. Cut off the bit that is missing, and cut down the bit that goes into the seat (as that is there still in seat) Straightened the edge on whats left and have put the both together and used the plastic guide fix. So far so good, fits together- and actually is holding seat belt in place- though Im not sure for how long lol. Just need to secure the two bits together then maybe double sided tape (any recommendations?) for body and some glue for the bit thats in the hole to connect to the small bit left on the newer part of guide.
Risked the £25 for new guide as no chance I can take the seat off etc to do it properly.
Will let you know how it goes/holds out once ive secured it.

I bought a seat belt guide and used the back-plate as a template to copy onto a 3-5 mill. piece of aluminum. Drilled and taped the (machine screw), holes in the same location. Drilled two extra holes in the plate for handling. Cut a slot in the fabric just enough to slide in the plate and also remove the old plate. I slide in the plate in through the slot using my extra guide holes in the plate. Placed the plate at the exact location, drilled the two holes through the seat belt guide and counter sank the tiny heads flush to the guide. Make a test run on the broken guide. It is important to chose adequate size and fine thread electricians screw, round head. I slipped the tiny electricians screw ( Philips or Robertson) through the seat belt guide and screwed it in part way. Then I aligned the second electricians screw hole and sewed in the second electricians screw. Just tighten up the electricians screws and paint the heads black. Smart job. I use the seat belt guide holes as my clearance size holes so as to not remove any material to prevent weakening the seat belt bracket other than the counter sink holes.. Electricians screw size five eights long or three quarts of an inch. About a number 4, fine thread, round head. (an electricians screw). The key is not a over size (machine screw), you want it to be as discreet as possible. Works great and it doesn't show. The slot is cut on the vertical the size of the width of the back plate. The seat belt guide will hide the slot. If you do not understand, write me.

This is how I did mine on my Z3, slightly off line but is a strong repair.
