Had a great weekend and some throughly nice weather. Lucked out again. Thanks to @Stevo7682 and @Mrs Stevo for organising everything, evenmore so in these testing times. Didn't get too many pictures this year and not many that did it justice.

SCOTLAND RUN SEPTEMBER 2020

We left our home, in our little red Z3 car
With the top down, we were happy by far
Southwaite services we met a Z4 and more Z3’s
The first guy that came he put us at ease

You see, we are newbies at this here game
And wondered if anyone else felt the same
The sun was up, the roof was down
And smiles replaced a worried frown

We had a lovely drive to the hotel, true
With a little glimpse at Scotland’s view.
This covid thing --- We must wear a mask
To organise this, it’s a humongous task !

Over the weekend ---- into Scotland’s lair
Which wove into our hearts to keep us there
The views were fabulous --- the hotel was great
Covid, kept us in bubbles, when we ate

One lovely couple had planned the routes each day
With zig zag roads and beautiful views on display
We followed our leader in his yellow Z3
It was easy to spot , when we were not sure where to be

Ten cars set off on days so fine
On Sunday afternoon our car did whine
It was clear, to stop, we just had to do
Then 3 cars also pulled over, with us, too

We thanked them for their concern, but we were in the AA
We told them to carry on, and enjoy the rest of their day
But there was a unanimous - NO Way
We’re a team , we support and we stay .

Someone said I ‘ll phone, he will not be too far
Then our leader turned up in his yellow Z3 car
Like out of a magicians hat , did suddenly appear
A jack , spanners and other mechanics type gear

He worked his magic , on our poor Z3
As three of the ladies drank wine happily
What he told to my hubby, went right over my head
It will get you home safely ( I understood) what he said

Before I sign off , I must mention this too
The 3 who supported us and our leader too
From the bottom of my heart I most sincerely, Thank You

I realise, that any of you would stop for a car down
In order to help with a worried frown
You are a fabulous group , oh yes you are
And we will be back in our little red car

To the whole team on the 2020 Scotland Z3 Run
A marvellous weekend , A very well done.

Brilliantly said - the only problem with weekends like that is that they have to end but at least it increases the anticipation for next year.

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone once again this year ( even with all the restrictions) it has been a great weekend and has been a pleasure once again to host some old friends and meet new ones.
I appreciate the efforts you all put to keep to the regulations thank you all for that .
There has been some kind words said but I just pick the places still takes you guys to come together to make it a great weekend ( which it totally was) .

It was also really great to see the camaraderie of the forum when Dave and Mue ( @Mad2718 ) had a problem
@Nodzed , @bertiejaffa and @mid life crisis all stopped to stay with them to make sure they were ok.
Lee phoned me to tell me what had happened we had stopped a mile or so up the road .
At this point I would like to thank Dave ( @Redsheep ) for agreeing to then lead the rest of the group to the next stop i then turned back to go and assist if possible after a bit of diagnosis we established the parking brake shoes were at the bottom of the problem.
After stripping off the brakes on the drivers rear wasn't fixing the shoes with what I had so as the car an auto decision was made to remove them.
By the time this was done we were way late to catch up with the first group and after some phone calls to Dave we decided I would lead my group back to the hotel and Dave would carry on with the rest on the designated route.
But even with this was still top weekend.

Now I need to get back to the drawing board to start planning next years run

I will get some pictures up once go through some of them

Stephen.

Can I just add my thanks too,
@Stevo7682 @Mrs Stevo you did us proud, cracking weekend organised in very difficult circumstances. I'll get some photos put up when we get somewhere with a decent WiFi.
It was nice to meet up with old friends again and always great to make new friends.
Regards
Gary and Ann

Andy,

have you the whole weekend footage?

if so can you pm or send
to me if I give you details?

dave
Hi Dave. I have a fair amount, if you pm me your details I'll see what I've got and send to you. It'll take a while though mate as it takes several minutes to upload each 3 minute clip unless I can find another shorter way.

We were touched by the kindness and generosity of those who attended this year's Scottish run.

Lynne is over the moon with the flowers.
Your gift to me is very fitting
20200929_190403.jpg

I got a bottle of Glenlivet 15yr old French oak reserve for my 40th it as you can see is nearly finished as is the last 10 years.
It us my 50th in just under 3 weeks and it now seems fitting to finish the first bottle in the next couple of weeks and open the new one on my 50th ( to which the first glass will be raised to all you guys)
I also feel it is fitting that this bottle has been presented to me by such a great bunch of people friends old and new ( met through the last 5 yrs ) who came together to make a great weekend in whats been a tough year.
And hopefully next year will start to bring back brighter days for us all.

So once again we would both like to thank you one and all.
And we are both so glad that you all enjoyed your weekend so much .
For me the weekend spoke volumes of the people who are members and attend these events even through all the planning things happen like getting stuck for an hour in traffic ( because of an accident) less than 3 miles from the hotel on Saturday then stuck in Glencoe on sun morning then having to split into 2 groups so I could go back to assist Dave & Mue not an unhappy word from anyone says a lot about the great people that are on this forum and I thank you for that.

Looking forward to getting the ball rolling again for Scottish run 2021.

Stephen and Lynne :thankyou::thankyou::drinks:
