Event Scottish run 2020. 19th 20th September.

Looking for a bit of feedback from those on the list of attendees on this.
Looking at a potential route for one of the days that involves ferry crossings now I have 2 routes one has a return ferry and the other is 3 single journey funny thing is price ( based on car 2 people) is only just over a pound of a difference.
Cost wise its around £42 total car and 2 passenger what I really want to know is this something that you guys would be happy enough with .
Let me know thanks
Stephen.

As long as Bella can get on and off without grounding I'm fine mate.

Hi Stephen,
I’m not sure, tbh. It depends on how tough the sea is!

Not the sea as such crossing is a sea loch inshore water trust me I'm definitely not one for bobbing about on boats.:sour::sour::depressed::depressed:

@t-tony ask Lynne and she'll tell you I am the last person to want to go on a boat .
She quite fancies a cruise ship holiday and i told her she'd be going on her own as that is really not my idea of a fun holiday

And these are all just ideas just now still got the hardest thing to do yet and that is secure the hotel as that tends to be a bigger issue than anything else.
Problem is you need to find a hotel that fits into the route that is big enough to fit the number that is attending .
Like I had one to go and look over this weekend and they have taken a Saturday night function and no longer have enough rooms to cater for us .
Got a day 2 route pretty much sorted juggling some ideas for Day 1 .
So aiming to sort a deal with the hotel and recce the day 2 route this weekend.

Good luck Steve, it can be hard work.

Tony.

All depends on the total weekend cost Steve.

obviously not the borders then?

I crossed the Mekong Delta on some twigs with a 4x4 , ha ha. so I’m more than happy to do any ferry’s, not worried about the extra money.
Cheers
John

More details on what we are doing where we are staying cost etc coming up over Festive Period :thumbsup:

Hi Steve, happy to do whatever, i just enjoy the driving. With regards the hotel, I know its a pain and I know I have Charlie with me...if it makes it easier we can always stay local like the Mints did last year and then you don’t have to worry about catering for everyone.... especially as we will be travelling up late again on the Friday...

I think @Pingu is thinking the same, and I am also not sure the new Z is quick enough to get there before the meal cut off like the old one was ha ha

UPDATE. .March 20.

Covid-19 .
I have discussed the situation with this pandemic with Lynne and we have decided that as the Scottish run is in September as things stand we are still going ahead as planned but I have decided to make some changes.
We are going back up first week in April and will discuss with the hotel but we should be ok to leave the final decision until 28 days before without any financial penalties.
I am however going to change Day 1 as a precaution ( mainly because I have to pre book 1 of the ferries and don't need the hassle of trying to get that refunded ) I haven't ruled out still going over to Mull I need to recce and time a new route details on that to follow soon.
Also totally understand if anyone wishes to withdraw but hoping by the time we get to September this coronavirus thing will have subsided.

I am also about to set up a pm thread with everyone to get details for hotel to allocate the rooms ( @Pingu I will include you on the thread as well as we have spoke about your plans ).

So like I have said at the moment the Scottish run is still definitely on :):):).

Stephen.
