Event Scottish run 2020. 19th 20th September.

Day 1

Revised route
View attachment 151965
So after several days with road maps working on different routes this is what I finally went for.
Did a full recce of this route yesterday.

So we leave the hotel heading north to Corran ferry.
Catch the ferry across to Ardgour ( 10 min crossing) then onto Strontian for our first 30 min stop.
After Strontian its onwards to Morar for lunch this leg has the only sections of single track road on day 1 approx 20 miles of it but good passing places.
We will be stopping at Morar for lunch for around an hour.
After lunch we head back towards Fort William ( passing the Glenfinnan viaduct (Harry Potter) and the monument) this section of road weather permitting has some really good views of benn nevis still looking for a better stopping place in Fort William but have a back up if can't find a better venue.
So stop in Fort William area half hour again then the last stint will be back to hotel.

@Nodzed
Niall I will pm you will a more detailed version to allow you to set up the sat nav route ( appreciated) I will do this sometime next few days once I finalise the stop in Fort William.

Stephen.

Hi Dave
Yes we are heading there on the Friday after work. So could go up together if the time fits in with you guys

Right if the border gets closed to us sassenachs I need a local to give me a covert route into Scotland avoiding the motorways, Rozzers and Nicola Sturgeon.:whistle::whistle:.................................=))

HI... possibly... what time? Depends if I can blag Charlie a case of sickness
We are meeting @Cathia777 and @mid life crisis at Stafford at 8 so hoping to get to Southwaite between 10.30 and 11.00 for a drive in drive out stop to meet Andy and you if you can make it.

@Juvvajuvva hi John can you post on here or on the group pm thread to confirm you are attending as I am about to finalise the hotel booking.
Thanks Stephen.

Hi Stephen and guys,
regretfully I won’t be able to do the Scottish run this year. I am a freelancer in live sport and the Premier League and although we went back for a few weeks to finish the season off, we have stopped all the rest of the sports.
Financially it’s just not possible for me this year sadly, I need to focus on paying the mortgage and have picked up a bit of building work that I have to do to pay the bills.
My apologies if it impacts on the arrangements for yourself or everyone else.
Hopefully someone else will be able to take the amazing opportunity and I will be saddened not to be joining you all.
Hopefully when the sport and crowds come back I can join in next year.
kindest regards
John.

Hi John thanks for letting me know.
Sorry you can't make it :( hopefully next year may bring better times to us all.

As for next years Scottish run don't know where but I do know when as I already have the long weekend booked off work :D . It will be the 18th and 19th September 2021 put the date in your diary ;)

Just back from a weeks holiday in Skye, Inverness & Aviemore - must admit wish I took the Z but we opted for the X - the weather was fab and repeated
last years run - both days.
met a couple at our hotel in a blue Z3 from Northampton (I think) - lovely couple & gave him the nod to the site - can just see his z in the photo.
