Managed to blag the weekend of the 12th off so were thinking of heading up to Scotland,we dont have to come back untill the tuesday so we have a route to plan any suggestions considered

Go ,then to M6
What area are you thinking of going, Scotland is a wee bit bigger than you think you know... 
I'm in Glasgow, so a great run I would go is this ..
Glasgow city , Erskine bridge, A82 to Luss ( stop) , follow A82 to Tarbet, follow A82 to crianlarich, then left following the A82
This will take you up to Glencoe, and arrive at Fort William
in total , 157mile 3 1/2 hour drive (without stops)( will guarantee you will stop)

As of 13th I am up on Skye for a week with friends in their Z4 Alpina Roadster, so playing on the west coast over the week.
Last time I did that route Stevie in 2010 took me about 2hrs 30mins has something happened that has added nearly an hour to the journey time?

Just did a google time for it, any time I have done it, it would take longer because I always have to stop to take photos and take in the scenery.

well, is Go below me or above me ? still dont know where you are setting off from :-\ if below, we could meet up for a bite to eat near junction 36 on M6 on the saturday if any good for you. A slight detour would be great to take in some of the lake district, like Bowness and Windermere, great zedding roads here.
Can you believe it my son played football on say afternoon , tore ligaments in his ankle now he has to RICE and its put our trip in jeopardy,as he was in charge over the weekend! Going to be disappointed if we can't get something sorted.I used to compete in rally's over a few days and I was called the Japanese Welshman because of the No of photo's I would stop And take ,I don't think a weekend will be long enough.
