Does anyone have any idea of what scanner plug I need to connect to an early 2.8 Z3?
Every other Z3 I have has a plug under the dash and a round plug under the bonnet. This early car has 2 plugs under the bonnet but they need a female plug rather than the normal male plug.
A link to eBay would be very useful.
Thanks in advance.

All the 20 pin adaptors that I have found are male plugs that have a central circle with a segment cut out. I need a female plug with a triangular centre.

Hi, I may be wrong here....but I thought the scanner plug has a pacman type centre not a triangle.
You may find another plug on the other side of the engine bay?????

This is the one my scanner plugs into.
I do have one of the triangle shaped plugs but that on the other side of the engine bay near the fusebox

I don't know the earlier cars very well. But I agree with @Mazza I've only ever seen a 'pacman' diagnostics connector. But I have noticed some similar looking ports that you show on early cars as well but have no idea what they are for.

That is the type on all my other Z3's. This early car has 2 quite different sockets.

DOH!

Well spotted, I had a car cover on as the front body panels have been removed and all my other cars have the plug on the left hand side, this one is on the right.
Thanks for your help.
