My Z4 3.0i suddenly decided that the new sleeping policeman (aka speed humps) in my local area have either been installed too high or my suspension has dropped making the negotiation of them grind away at the shield underneath, or new humps been made a few mm too high.
Anyway negotiating them led to either going a mile out my way/asking the county to come and measure them. No points for guessing what I did if you noticed the heading of this input. Having lost the ability and inclination to change the susp myself left me with no alternative but to ask Lee & Gas for help. Note that since owning Zs for 13yrs ( Z3/Z4 coupe/ Z4 roady ) and only using a garage for mot I now needed to ask the Southern Zed Shed if they would mind doing the business on my Z4. Well here I am sitting at home with a big smile on my face after Lee and Gaz pulled out all the stops to get me in, driven home to Hemel Hempstead negotiated every speed hump around here and (no surprises here
) it’s like having a different car.
I felt compelled to put pen to paper to just reiterate what a lot of us Zeders already know that we are so lucky to have such dedicated Zshed members willing to give up their spare time and make owning a Z more compatible with our bank balance and most of all keeping the Z community together and adding longivety to this great BMW MK.
As you can see the suspension wasn’t the only problem they found the shiney black bits have been replaced with new items, so that’s an extra plus for me being a member. How lucky we have such capable members.
Had a ride out in Lee’s coupe around part of his usual route allowing me to now really regret letting him have it back, I nicknamed it the BEAST unfairly in my ownership but boy it really lives up to that name with his alterations and fettleing. Good job I can still hold my dinner back from exiting my rear, but honestly that car really is a beast now with Lee at the wheel. Man and car in perfect harmony.
