There are sad days for us: we lost our King, Mihai I de Romania.
Life was not so generous with His Majesty: she offered to Him many years, but sadly, far from Country and not at all wealthy .
We lost a precious Romanian.
We lost the only King with a crown made out of cannon steel and not gold.
We lost the last Monarch and Chief of state participant to WWII.
We lost The President of Honor of our club, Retromobil Club Romania.
We lost the only King which was not only addicted to motors, (cars and airplanes), like most of the crowned heads, but a dedicated mechanic, happy to dirty His hands and fix by Him self the engines.
We lost a Man who faced History with great dignity.
Rest In Peace Your Majesty!

Yes HT , but at the time the RO army was under a military leader command and they fought only against bolsheviks, in order to reconquer the RO motherlands. Never fought against west.
And at 23 August 1944, under King Michael I command, the army came on Allies side, shortening the war with (esthimated by historians) six months.
At the end of WWII we paid the price for being on the 4th place as number of losses: we've got the red flag. For 45 years.

A great read Dan, and as you say a sad time for your country. I loved the picture of King Michael in his overalls with a carburettor in his hands. Would we ever see a picture of one of our Royals doing that?, I think not. Keep the memories mate.:)

Tony.

Would like to watch that Dan, but I don't get History channel catch up on Sky TV any more.
Quite a few good programmes on that channel, I can watch on Sky TV. Just not catch up.

It's my favourite: American Pickers, Count's Kustoms, Ancient Aliens, WWII, survival series, and so on... It's better than Discovery , most of the time. Shame you can't get it Tony!

The series Black Sail was on there too mate, did you see that?
