Non RFTs but there are exceptions.
Non RFTs are far more comfortable - the tyre wall is far more compliant.
As with my wife's car where she does lots of country road driving in the dark and all weathers, RFTs are an insurance policy. That worked this week. Not cheap but the alternative is far more pain.
Grip wise - difficult to choose.

Never go runflats again. Loud and a hard ride! also very pricey!

I've got runflats on my Zed, but only because I bought a set of Z4 wheels complete with nearly new tyres and being a tight arse there's no way I'm ditching nearly new tyres.

Ok, I get a bit of tramlining but that's down to a number of other things too

We ditched ours as soon as we got i Z4 and would not have them if i had a choice. The run flats as has been said are a lot harsher

If it's a fun/weekend car then non RFTs always. If it's a daily use and you simply don't want the risk of a puncture on a dark wet fast country road where you don't want the risk, hassle or can't get mobile again then you will put up with the massive bone shaking ride (especially on 19" 30% profiles) and expense of RFTs. They will get you home or to safety. Don't pick them for performance. Pays your money and all that.

Welcome bill, thought the idea of a sports car was to feel the roads and bends!

As Lee said RFT's are a hard ride we have a 1 series on RFT's :woot:, grip as far as I'm concerned no difference between them we also used to run a Mini on them the same problem road noise and a hard ride:( + they cost a lot more :nailbiting: also can you have a puncture repaired:whistle:

Evening bazza, I have obviously had uses of both types of tyres and I know run flats you need to be permanently counteracting steering

Thats the trouble it does not feel like a sports car with the run flats.
