Had the Z3 out on Friday, she’s idling really rough at under 500 rpm & trying to cut out appears worse when warm. Was thinking possibly coil pack, anyone any other ideas?

Thanks in advance

You need to get a code reader on it, anything else is a shot in the dark, where are you located as lots of have readers and may be able to help out

Mine had the same symptons and it turned out to be the large rubber pipe to the maf split. £15 of ebay for a new one and 5 minutes to fit.

Agree put a code reader on it to see if there are any codes set, if it only shows codes for misfire then back to basics, check clean or replace plugs, if you suspect coil packs then move the one from the offending cylinder that the code identifys run the engine and re check for codes if the code identifys a different cylinder it would indicate the bad coil has moved to the one now setting the code.
Check all rubber pipes for splits or leaks, replace any that are found to be split or cracked.

Update

Plugged car in yesterday, no error codes. Got Bosch coil pack from work which solved misfire however car is still hunting on idle which we can’t figure out why. I was thinking it might be because I’m running super unleaded? Maybe fuel is too rich? Anyone any suggestions?

Have you given all the hoses a thorough check for splits

While it's idling spray carburettor cleaner or brake cleaner around the rubber induction hoses and listen for change in engine speed.
