When I replaced mine they were about £12 each from our local BMW dealer. Order from Sopers and they should be about the same with your Z. org discount.

Popped down to my local parts dept earlier. Got both the hoses shown in this image
As I have multiple splits in both. Shall try to fit them myself tomorrow, doesn't look too hard just running out of light this evening.

I've negotiated the same rates with my local BMW parts place via a friend who knew them prior, so don't need to use Sopers
Well the old ones are off but struggling to get the new ones on at present
May have to source a 2nd pair of hands to hold it on while I do the clamp for the large end that attached to the engine block. It feels due to the tension the air intake sits under it keeps trying to pop off and reset to its natural position
Raining atm so shall have another go tomorrow or attempt putting the engine end on first now I have the angles correct for the two parts going together!

This ripped a bit while removing but get the gist.
However didn't resolve the intermittent coughs I'm getting. Friend came along who knows bits and unplugged the MAF and low and behold it did the identical stutter it does while warming up.
Next job is to clean the MAF sensor!

Splits in the inlet hoses allow additional air into the engine after the MAF, so cleaning the MAF seems a reasonable course of action. At least you will know that the hoses, which needed replacing anyhow are not going to give you problems for several years.
Yeap removes the worry about hoses at least!

Keep at it. So satisfying doing your own diy. It's how I learnt. I've a actullly just cleaned the maf of my Z4, it was giving me a lumpy idle. I used Winns EGR cleaner. Seems to have done the trick.
You are right Lee it was very satisfying to finally complete, even though it took far longer than it should have done for a very silly reason! But lesson learnt haha.
My friend suggested I should obtain some brake cleaner for doing the MAF, presume that is similar to what you used?

Well cleaning the MAF did not work, however the issue still seemed to occur even with the MAF unplugged so I think that may not have been the actual cause.
Going to drop the car to a friend's garage at some point to have a full diagnostic done.

Sooooooo we had a poke around her on Friday.
Reset all trims and also wiped down the throttle control butterfly thing and funnily enough I didn't notice any issues this morning... There was definitely buildup around the butterfly so I wonder if there was enough carbon to make it stick a bit as the revs were meant to be dropping.
Going to monitor for a few days but hopefully resolved.
Are the 2.8s prone to any real carbon buildup over time? Worth having it cleaned?

carbon deposits on the butterfly and in the throttle body will caue a lumpy idle. Doesn't make it stick, just messes up the airflow. Use carburettor cleaner and clean rag, opent the butterfly to clean through.. don't leave muck or excess cleaner in the throttle body, clean it out and dry it.

Quick question on this (as i suspect i may have the same issue - when i eventually get around to checking it out!) - the pipes in the above photograph; are both of these fitted or just one of them?
I was planning on ordering a replacement just in case (as its only a tenner) so if there is an issue i can just swap it out there and then.
The reason I'm checking is that the Realoem.com link above only shows one, and i can only see one on my air intake - just wanted to be sure I'm not missing the other one (if its there)....

If you let me know the part numbers, I ordered the wrong ones off eBay last week, so they could possibly match yours. On realoem Type in the last 7 of your VIN and it will give you details of the car. You want to click on fuel preperation, then mass air flow and the two parts of duct are on there labeled 3 and 5
