Hi I finally got round to swapping my roof motor ( it's not been working for 3 years )
I've relocated it into the boot, all good but I have 2 problems
1- the roof closes but it slams quite hard into the screen section.
2- it won't open if the cars moving . ie at 10mph ( seam to remember it should work upto about 30mph )
On a seperate note I've replaced my missing outside temp sender.and it will only read either-40 c or sometimes it wil go to -35c
Any advice would be appreciated

It might be worth checking the folding roof mechanism at halfway to see if anything was disconnected ( a damper or somethings?) to allow easier manual opening/closing. First thing I would look at. HTH.

Tony.

ps. I thought you had to have the brake lights illuminated for the roof to work even at slow speeds?

You do Tony well at least you do on mine. We got caught out a few weeks back and as we slowed for some traffic lights I just rested my foot on the break pedal gently and sent the roof up. I suppose I was doing 10-15 miles per hour. Long as you have a passenger to clamp the left side down its fine.

I found the brake issue too last week. Left foot braking needed
The rate of closing slows on mine when it gets to within 2" of being shut. Don't know if it's done electrically (changing windings in the motor from series to parallel slowing it but making it more powerful) or if it's resistance against a spring or damper. There's not much you can see because it's all hidden behind the lining.
