Guys

Had a bit more chance to look properly at our new purchase. The hood is in very good condition over all with no rips etc, BUT it does seem to be an aftermarket one with a permanent rear window. The trouble is the previous owner split the window, removed it and had a go at stitching a new one in himself. This clearly did not go well!

Ideally I'd like to get a whole new hood, but funds don't allow-do you think it's possible to get someone to stitch a new window in for me?

Thanks.

Yes, it’s possible. A place in Walsall Wood does it. New window is in the region of £170-200.
Swansea guy does the hood and window for about £300-340.

A lot of members have used Jack Smith at Swansea for new hoods, all have good reports, well worth a trip to Swansea as he can do it in a day but be prepared to wait for a slot he gets busy. Have seen a sample of his work on one of our local members cars and its very good. Choice of colour as well is an option you have.
