Roll on spring.

Yeah, 4 weeks time we're heading to Wales for a week with Hugh and Sarah and hopefully we're going to experience some dry spring weather. If it's going to rain I'll take the silver zed as it's still got the hard top on, but hopefully I'll be taking the black zed to give it's new engine a proper outing and some top down driving.

You really need to roof down around there Garry. Stunning roads and scenery. Be a great shame to have the hard top on.

Probably a daft question but just on the off chance it stops raining this month does anyone know if my z4 needs to be stationary to put the roof down , I know some convertibles will still activate the roof while moving.

I quite like driving the car with the hard top on, it's just a different driving experience and as the silver zed is a manual is it stating the obvious that it's like driving a different car ? =))

Well it doesn't look any nearer this Morning, it's p****** it down :banghead:
We refer to that as liquid sunshine in Cumbria Dave, it's all relative :D

I believe you can drop/raise on the move at a defined low speed.

Yes you can Ian but don't rely on the speed the book quotes.

Same here :meh:.
Wish I'd gone for a taz yesterday as it was dry, even took the outdoor cover off and checked the battery condition in readiness but ended up doing something else :banghead:.

I had bike for 40 years and rode everything from mz to vmax but decided it was time to hang up my boots

Looked at all sorts Porsche, nissan 370 , but thought the z was the best of the lot . I've got the m sport 2.0 version and its pretty tame in normal driving but put it in sport mode and it's a completely different car.
Blackbirds a pretty epic machine as well.
There's quite a few ex bikers on here Ian and a few that I envy that still have motorbikes.
I also looked at different options before buying , as most do but kept coming back to Z3's and it turned out to be the best car I've had. Bought it fours years ago and put 40k fun filled miles on it :rally:.

Had 3 bikes at one point. A GP100 for the work commuter, a GPX600 which was my first bike when I passed and couldn't bare to part with and a CBR900RR fireblade. Packed up riding years ago and I wouldn't start up again now.

Yes totally get that, some serious bikes there. I'm 57 now and thought it was time to get a weekend vehicle that both me and the wife could enjoy. She never got the bike thing so looking forward to some good road trips when the weather improves, not least of which is the new forest run with you guys.
