Thanks guys, those are exactly what I do need but I don't think @spurs fan in a coupe has any seperate. He usually has complete sets for sale. At present I'm just holding the bars in place with the trims so I'd best not roll over any time soon!! JIM

I recently retrofitted roll hoops on my Z, It's an excellent DIY.

just make sure you get the correct parts. There's slight differences between pre facelift and facelift parts, and obviously between cars that had roll hoops and cars that didn't.

Basically, you have to swap the whole back of the interior trim.

The lower/back trim i got had holes on it so i only used the upper/outer trim bits instead of the whole thing (see in the back of the bottom of my post) They screw in just fine, just don't sit 100% flush. They don't squeak or rattle either so i don't really mind.

The only differences between roll hoop and non roll hoop enclosures are the plastic tab and metal bracket inside which is there to snap the upper trim onto, and the rubber seals on the side. This is why it's recommended to buy the whole thing.

Here's a picture of what it looks like.
It's just melted on on one side, other side is held by brackets.

I adapted my non roll hoop case to accept roll hoops by melting those trims off and simply swapping out the plastics and brackets.
(i did this because the enclosure i got had silly speaker holes on it aswell.)

Here's the finished job.

Note: my kit didn't include the small center lid :( I'm going to build one out of fibreglass because i REFUSE to spend 200 dollars on one from ECS.. noone's selling them used cheap either.

Also!

Early 96 Z3's cant be retrofitted with roll hoops as they don't have the mounting spots, the brackets will need to be welded on in order to accept the hoops.

Cheers everyone :)

If you know a welder/plater you could get some made reasonably easily.

Jim I have located the roll hoop mounts for you via Breaker Link on the WWW, uk phone 01277355441 ref. Z2984308BL £120 + VAT + delivery. I have asked them to hold them while I contact you and if they are what you want you can contact direct. If they will not send to you in Canada maybe you pay for them and get delivered to me and I can get them over to you by ?.
Please let me know what you want to do ASAP.

Thanks so very much Geoff but I'll have to pass as with the exchange rate at the monument rate makes them more than I can afford to spend at the moment. I truly appreciate your efforts and will be extra careful not to put my car on it's top until I get those parts. I'm in the process of purchasing a complete set of Bilsteins and coil overs to lower the car and much like @ Rha have found the pension doesn't allow us to just go out whenever the idea strikes to buy what we'd like too! Thanks Geoff for the offer, I'll just let it go for now but do appreciate the lengths you've gone to!! Reminds me very much of my very good forum friend whom we lost tragically almost one year ago Ash Folley ,forum name Ashbandicoot!! RIP brother! He was so generous with supplying me with several parts I needed at no cost other than postage and I did, as you are, track and sourced parts in the USA and got them shipped to him in the UK even when sellers wouldn't ship there initially. Once I explained what a great guy Ash was they would relent. So again, I thank you, it's nice to know that I can count on you should I need something in future. I may not be the most popular person on forum but I do know who my friends are! If ever I can do anything for you, just ask!! JIM

That remote was actually a no cost from @ littlefeller of two so only right I pass one along! Glad to be of assistance. Offer stands to any member re sourcing and delivery of parts from USA.. Many sellers refuse to ship to other parts of the world but will to Canada so if it's something real important it may be worth the extra shipping costs involved!! @ t-tony can only carry so much back from Florida after all!! lol.
