Hi all! Proud new owner of a 97 Z3 2.8 Oxford Green here in Texas:)

The miles were kept pretty low (78,000) but I know that everything ages and was looking to get some tips or maybe things to look out for as preventative maintenance.

The previous owner had it garage kept, but just did oil changes so everything is pretty stock

I already bought a water pump because i know the OEM one is very prone to failure, am going to go ahead and replace the thermostat and serpentine belt while im at it.

Anything else you wise Z owners suggest? ;)

Cheers ! :beer

:welcome: to the Forum from West Cumbria, England. Things to check and replace if required

1. VANOS referb
2. Rear Beam bushes (bushes in general)
3. Diff Bush
4. Shockes, springs and top mounts
5. Diff and Gearbox oil
6. Viscous Fan
7. Seats bushes
8. Check all rubber hoses under the bonnet (hood) for perished rubbers
9. Hook up to a code reader to see what, if any, faults are highlighted
10. Flexible brake hoses

Corrosion not so much of an issue in Texas I presume but always worth checking behind the outer sill covers for any corrosion on the structural sills.

Check the plastic cooling fan for cracks too, they can shed a blade which throws it out of balance and totally destruction soon follows.
Welcome from me too near Lincoln, UK.
