Just wondering what it is I'm missing about the uk. Oh yes, that's it, potholes! There are great driving roads here and wait for it - smooth tarmac! Another odd thing, it's been in the high 30 s for weeks and none of that tarmac is melting.

Smashing snaps ZV1!

Despite the poor economic climate here in Greece there are still less potholes than in the UK.

Re melting roads, surfacing contractors use a high penetration (stiffer) bitumen in most Med countries that makes it capable of withstanding surface temps of 40-50c without melting or deforming.

Can't beat a good pothole to stop you falling asleep behind the wheel.

I'm off to France then Spain this evening - hoping it might be a bit cooler!!;)

Speaking of pot holes me and Shirl found some craters on Sunday but already found a work around for them.

Tony.

We're off to Turkey tonight. If you see a pothole it means your on an actual road not a dust track!

@Synclare we do live in the uk now, just been staying in our old house here since May. Setting off back tomorrow.
Of course I know the tarmac here and in other hot countries is made to suit the temperatures.Pity ours falls apart when it's frosty and melts as soon as the sun comes out.

Thanks Paul we will. Regular place for us so know what were going in to.

Have a good one both of you.

Tony and Shirl.
