A simply wonderful guy. Sad that F1 isn't here at the moment to salute him.

Just come though on BBC News that Stirling Moss has died aged 90 after a long illness, very sad. Greatest driver to have never won a World Championship.
Had the pleasure of meeting him at Donnington a number of years ago, a true gentleman.
Perhaps mods could combine into one thread as three different thread already.

He excelled in all branches of the sport not just F1. The greatest of all.

A great all round driver. Jim Clarke?
Sir Stirling was a legend in his own lifetime and inspiration to many. The same breed as Mike Hailwood, a champion on 2 wheels as well as 4. R.I.P.

Tony.

Both very similar, great in many different disciplines, Moss was just amazing and that Mila Mila drive was just outstanding (did you know Moss and jenkins invented the pace note for that race which is now a common tool). I'd have to give the crown to JC though.

I loved the stories he told of the greats that he knew as friends and most of them he raced against too, Fangio and Jim Clark to name just two.

RIP Legend

Very sad to hear of the passing of Sir Stirling Moss today. A true great from the days when, as well as F1, top drivers raced sports cars, saloons and did a bit of rallying too. RIP
