Just noticed in the Daily Mail today that Norman Dewis died on 8th June. I had the pleasure of meeting him after he gave a talk at the NEC Classic Car Show a number of years ago, the tales he told of his work at Jaguar were truly amazing. A great character who will be sadly missed. Didn't see anything on the TV or on BBC online news regarding his passing.

A great character from a great age of motor sport. He was quite active until fairly recently. a definite loss.

Also first I’ve heard , very sad news jaguar through and through

I didn't see anything about it either. A sad loss. The word legend is bandied around too often these days, but in terms of the history of Jaguar he was certainly one.
I remember seeing him tell a story about when he was testing the effects of a high speed blow out on some Jaguar or other. They came up with a plan to have a car driving alongside with a marksman leaning out of the window with a rifle to shoot the tyre. Can you imagine that happening now?
