Bloody hell Tracey. Those pictures tell the real story of the crash. I think you did well to walk away without more serious injuries. It would be great to see you back in a new Zed soon. Hope the ribs aren't too sore mate.
ClassiclineCould I ask out of interest who you were insured with?
Glad to see that you were able to walk away from it!!!! Hope you heal quickly. Thank God for air bags. My Mom was forced off the road years ago and hit a pole in her Buick Skylark and needed plastic surgery after her face hit the steering wheel......FrankieHi All,
Just an update for those who saw I'd totalled my 2.8 Fiji Green on Sunday 14 October. After being told I'd had a lucky (but see below) escape getting away with just bruising my local A&E told me I have two broken ribs
However, my insurance has paid out in full on the agreed value and let me retrieve the hardtop
I went to pick up the hardtop and I think lucky should really have been miraculous! It looks like I must have flown across the ditch, hit the tree at 45 degrees vertically (see the long groove in the bonnet!) and then dropped a foot or so into the bottom of the ditch while at the same time still rotating as the back end was under the thick bushes.View attachment 90733 View attachment 90734 View attachment 90735 View attachment 90736 View attachment 90737 View attachment 90738 View attachment 90739 View attachment 90740 View attachment 90733
No mate, as it's a Cat B only authorised Dismantlers can buy these your of wrecks (unless it's sold by Copart who have a scheme whereby you rent a bay of them, they remove the engine, gearbox and all fluids and you've got to dismantle the rest of the car (£100 + VAT per day bay rental). So sorry to see this Tracey. I know how much you’ve done to make it a great car.
Glad to hear you ok after seeing that impact, hope the pain’s not too bad.
On the bright side glad to hear you had an agreed value, softens the blow and removes all the hassle for arguing on price. Do you get the option to buy the wreck back?
Sorry to hear about your MumGlad to see that you were able to walk away from it!!!! Hope you heal quickly. Thank God for air bags. My Mom was forced off the road years ago and hit a pole in her Buick Skylark and needed plastic surgery after her face hit the steering wheel......Frankie
Don't worry, I thought it was funnyHi Tracey, thanks for the "like". Seriously, I nearly removed my post on the grounds of bad taste. Too close to your accident to do a funny. I'll still say sorry, such a lovely car so hard to replace, hoping your injuries are healing.
I've just told them what colour it isOh dear. That colour description will upset a few people, not least Tracey.
