Hi All,

Just an update for those who saw I'd totalled my 2.8 Fiji Green on Sunday 14 October. After being told I'd had a lucky (but see below) escape getting away with just bruising my local A&E told me I have two broken ribs :grumpy:

However, my insurance has paid out in full on the agreed value and let me retrieve the hardtop :)

I went to pick up the hardtop and I think lucky should really have been miraculous! It looks like I must have flown across the ditch, hit the tree at 45 degrees vertically (see the long groove in the bonnet!) and then dropped a foot or so into the bottom of the ditch while at the same time still rotating as the back end was under the thick bushes.

Omg these are so much worse than I had thought!!!!
That's a very lucky escape considering.
Glad you got the hardtop and fitting kit off, are you going to keep an eye out for another Fiji?

Not sure yet or whether a Zed at all. I've got two Fiji Green owners interested in the hardtop but giving myself a few weeks to decide!

Bloody hell, that makes my shunt look like a minor scrape!
At least mine will get repaired one way or another. (Just waiting for it to be collected sometime this afternoon)

Get well soon

You certainly did a good job on that Tracey, it is amazing that the hardtop survived undamaged. I says a lot for the stength of the car. Hope the ribs are healing OK and glad to hear that the insurance company were good.

Glad you're OK mate, the long dent in the bonnet is crazy. Zed held up well. Glad the insurance company have been good to you. Some would have been through the car with a fine tooth comb looking for a undeclared modification to not pay out.

The original photos looked bad enough, but these pictures are horrendous. I certainly agree that you have been way more than lucky. I hope the ribs heal soon.

Glad to hear you’re on the mend and the insurance company seem to have worked with you.

Hope you’re able to move on to your next car easily enough.

Bloody hell mate. Looks worse now than on the original photos.
Pleased to here you've got away lightly. Ribs will heal in a few weeks, the car can be replaced you can't.

Wow! You certainly made a good job of that didn’t you!,
Ribs will heal and you walked away from it!,
Nice to hear no problems with insurance (makes a change)
Could I ask out of interest who you were insured with?
Take your time and make the right decision for you !

That's a fair old whack mate! The car crumbling, your seatbelt and SRS did well for you their mate. Glad the insurance company came up trumps, nice to hear.

I gave them a long list of declared mods so probably happy I was being honest. They didn't even inspect it, agreed it was a write off grin the roadside photos (would've been even easier if they saw these photos!)
